Black powdercoated square posts in 316 stainless — a bold, contemporary finish for modern residential decks, alfresco areas, and staircases.

This range includes Standard (Classic) and Premium posts. All posts suit flat handrail and carry a matte black finish. Cover plates purchased separately. RHT M6 Only.

Important: Powdercoated stainless is not suitable for coastal or corrosive environments. For coastal installs, see our Powdercoated Aluminium Posts instead.

What's the difference between the Standard (Classic) and Premium posts in this range?

Not that much.

Both ranges use M6 RHT Tapped Thread, are 960mm height, use 80mm hole spacing (11 holes) and have very similar top and bottom plates, making them aesthetically very similar.

The base plates and top plates have slightly different offset on the holes and the top plates suit a different gauge screw, neither of which you will notice once installed.

The Premium Range is being used to fill stock gaps due to the popularity of the Standard Range.

Neither range includes cover plates natively, these are purchased separately.

Can I use black powdercoated stainless posts in a coastal location?

We don't recommend it. Powdercoated stainless may not be suitable for coastal or corrosive environments as the salt air and moisture may degrade the coating over time. We don't know at what point you will see discolouration or stripping of the coating as stainless steel is not a substrate covered by powdercoating warranties.

For coastal installs, our Powdercoated Aluminium Posts are the right choice.

What handrail type do these posts suit?

All posts in this range are designed for flat handrail. If you need posts compatible with round handrail tube, see our Round Wire Balustrade Posts.

Are stair posts available in black?

Stair posts in the same matte black powdercoated finish are made to order from the Premium Range. Request a quote with your run length and angle and we'll confirm availability and lead time.

General lead times are 4-6 weeks upon finalisation of order.
