This starter pack features the incredibly popular BlackLine Jaw/Swage style of balustrading and all the tools you need to install it. Easy-to-Install with a streamlined look, Kit #BP1 has allowed views across beaches, balconies and newly built decks. If you have a U-shaped deck with timber posts this DIY starter bundle might be what your home improvement project needs. This bundle pack is the perfect setup for three sections of wire balustrading where you have 1 metre high, 40mm or thicker hand rail, allowing you to creating 33 horizontal runs approximately 3 metres each. Kit #1 can be used for runs up to 10 metres between timber posts (more wire may need to be purchased however).

Blackline fittings and wire rope are suitable for most environments, excluding marine/saline/salt air such as beachside projects. Salt is highly corrosive and will strip the black layer resulting in rust and degradation.

Perfect for fixing wire rope runs to timber posts, this very popular streamlined BlackLine Jaw/Swage Kit #BP1 features a Black PVD Jaw/Swage Bottlescrew M5 x 1/8" (3.2mm), a Black PVD Fork Terminal 5mm x 1/8" (3.2mm) and 2qty Black PVD M6 x 60mm Lag Eye Screws.

We've included 1x19 3.2mm stainless wire rope as it is highly recommended with this kit due to it's better tensioning capabilities and smoother appearance.

All fittings are blackened stainless steel and require hydraulic swaging. This is an easier method than mechanical swaging but requires more pressure. We've bundled in our 5T light duty hydraulic swaging tool to do the job.

It's recommended to use the purpose built lag eye screw driver bit to easily drive the lag eye screws into your timber posts (pre-drilling recommended).

The wire rope cutters included are perfect for cutting the 3.2mm wire rope. They cut cleanly with a precise one-hand shearing action that eliminates frayed ends.

The nifty spanner multi tool helps tension the bottlescrews so you can have a taught wire. Simply hook the nib on the side of the spanner into the bottlescrew and turn to tension. Make sure to turn the bottlescrew to pull on or loosen the wire and avoid twisting the wire istelf.

BlackLine Stainless Steel 1x19 3.2mm now available in 50M, 100M and 305M reels.

This wire rope is both quality tested for tensile strength (at least 8 kN) and stainless steel. Be assured you are purchasing a high quality, well made product.

Avoid using harsh cleaners, chemicals and abrasives on and around the BlackLine fittings and wire. The process of blackening the stainless steel produces a coating that may be stripped off, discoloured or degraded due to chemical reactions and abrading.

Care Instructions

BlackLine Wire & Fittings

Avoid using harsh cleaners, chemicals and abrasives on and around the BlackLine wire and fittings. The blackened surface of the stainless steel may be stripped off, discoloured or degraded.

AVOID acid based cleaners such as oxalic acid (deck cleaner), vinegar or InnoShine B570 / InnoGel B450.

USE a mild, pH neutral cleaner, such as orange citrus or mild detergent with a non-abrasive cloth.

A darker sheen can be restored with light oiling.
