Stainless Steel Fittings

Stainless steel fittings are used to secure, tension and terminate the wire in wire balustrade systems. Designed for use with stainless steel wire rope, these fittings allow you to create strong, tensioned cable runs for decks, balconies and stair balustrades, including modern cable balustrade systems.

Our range of wire balustrade fittings includes a wide selection of components such as turnbuckles, bottlescrews, copper swages (ferrules), wire rope thimbles and other specialised fittings, suitable for both mechanical and hydraulic swaging systems.

How Wire Balustrade Fittings Work

In a typical wire balustrade system, fittings are installed at each end of the wire run and used to tension the cable between posts. Intermediate posts provide support along the span, while tensioning fittings such as turnbuckles and bottlescrews allow the wire to be tightened to meet performance and compliance requirements.

Choosing the Right Fittings

The correct fittings will depend on your installation method and system type. Mechanical swaging systems commonly use nickel plated copper ferrules (often referred to as crimps or copper swages), while hydraulic swaging systems use stainless steel swage fittings for a clean, professional finish.
